Working of Web Hosting:

As I mentioned above, web hosting happens when you get a space on the webserver to upload your website data files. This space stores all your data files, media, and database. When you purchase the host company’s hosting, it allocated the resource like bandwidth, disk space, RAM, and many other extra services included in their packages. Partition of the server resources depends on the types of web hosting you have.

When you start your website, you may need a small porting of the server to save your data. But as your content and traffic increase, you will need more space on the server or pay for the entire server to save a massive amount of content.

On signup to the hosting web package, you gain access to the server through cPanel, which allows uploading your files on the server. Moreover, you can install WordPress to make the process easier.

For the properly running web application, web hosting is not enough; you will also need to register a domain name and direct it towards your web server, where all data files are placed. It’s necessary to let web browsers know that the files for that particular domain name are located on that server.

Try to buy the domain and hosting from one brand. It doesn’t require connecting both at the backend.

Types of Web Hosting

Basically, there are three major types of hosting shared, VPS, and dedicated hosting, but I will share all six types existing now.

1) Shared Hosting:

Shared-Hosting

Shared hosting is the widely used web hosting. It is cost-effective and the best solution for meeting the hosting need of a personal blog or small business.

In this type, all websites with access to the webserver shared a single server’s resources. By splitting the resources, it’s cost very low for the host company. That’s why shared hosting is available at chipset rates.

It is very easy to set up and doesn’t require additional technical knowledge to start.

2) VPS Hosting:

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. VPS hosting is the next step to shared hosting. When a website grows, it upgrades its package because it requires more space and resources. Medium-sized businesses can take advantage of VPS.

VPS hosting depends on the virtualization concept. Under this service, all users are assigned a separate part on the webserver. They have their own memory, bandwidth, and disk space. In other words, you are provided a dedicated space on a shared server along with several resources.

VPS hosting is a bit more costly than shared hosting, but it provides a fast loading speed and higher uptime rates.

3) Dedicated Hosting:

Dedicated hosting is an ideal choice to manage a large business. In dedicated hosting, you get access to an entire server with a lot of resources.

It provides many incredible features such as complete technical control over the server resource, high security, optimal performance, high uptimes, fast load times, no sharing, and more.

With too much high cost, it’s not the right choice for starters or small businesses. However, enterprises and large eCommerce websites can consider a dedicated hosting package.

4) WordPress Hosting:

As you know, there are 80% of websites developed using WordPress. So if you are a WordPress runner, you can take this hosting because many hosting brands provide the best competitive price packages.

This type of hosting allocates space on the webserver and protects your data against hacker attacks, whose targets are especially WordPress websites. Moreover, it provides Bandwidth, disk space, and many other resources.

WordPress hosting is also further categorized into two types which are:

5) Cloud Hosting:

Presently, cloud hosting is a new form of hosting in the market. It is considered a hybrid version of VPS hosting, but it’s less expensive.

In cloud hosting, there are multiple remote servers. All files or data are stored on each server. If one server stops working due to giant traffic or has some technical issue, the whole traffic is routed to the next server.

So cloud hosting is a perfect choice for a website with huge traffic. It helps to avoid downtime as well.

6) Reseller Hosting:

Reseller hosting is not for commonly use. If you are looking for web hosting to start a small business or building a little blog, then Reseller hosting is not for you.

It is a perfect choice for web designers, developers, and agencies. They buy hosting from a provider and sell it to their clients with their service.

Reseller hosting is a sustainable source of income. It helps the agencies or developers to improve their services.

Conclusion:

Now, you have a clear idea of web hosting, it’s working, and its types. It’s a way to access your website on the internet by using any device. I have mentioned the six types with a description. You can find anyone according to your needs. I hope this article will guide you to choose the right web hosting for your website.
